All submitted manuscripts to Lafdzuna: Journal of Language & Literature undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both the authors' and reviewers' identities are concealed to ensure an unbiased evaluation.

Review Workflow:

  1. Initial Screening by Editors:

    • The editorial team checks the manuscript's completeness, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and adherence to the formatting guidelines.

    • Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements will be returned without review.

  2. Reviewer Assignment:

    • Suitable manuscripts are sent to two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

    • Reviewers are selected based on their academic background and familiarity with the subject matter.

  3. Review Process:

    • Reviewers evaluate the originality, novelty, methodology, academic contribution, and clarity of language.

    • Recommendations may include: Accept without revision, Minor revision, Major revision, or Reject.

  4. Editorial Decision:

    • The final decision is made by the editor based on reviewers' recommendations.

    • Authors are given up to 2 weeks for minor revisions and up to 3 weeks for major revisions.

  5. Finalization and Publication:

    • Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated (if necessary) before being copyedited and scheduled for publication.

Notes:

  • The average peer review process takes 4–8 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and authors.

  • No fees are charged during the review stage (APC is charged only after the manuscript is accepted for publication).
