Bentuk dan Makna Leksikon Kekerabatan dalam Puisi Arab ًحنينا تحن Karya ‘Amr bin Qamiyah: Kajian Morfosemantik

Abstract

This study examines the form and meaning of the kinship lexicon in the classical Arabic

poem Taḥinnu Ḥanīnan by ‘Amr ibn Qamiyah using a morphosemantic approach. The

study focuses on vocabulary referring to kinship relations and social structure, such as

اهل (family), قوم (clan), and خال (maternal uncle), this analysis is applied to identify basic

forms, derivational patterns, word classes, and other morphological processes that

contribute to meaning formation. Meanwhile, semantic analysis is used to examine

changes in meaning, semantic expansion, and the context in which the lexicon is used

within the poem’s structure. The results show that the kinship lexicon in this poem

serves not only as a marker of biological relationships but also contains social, political,

identity, and emotional dimensions that reflect inter-tribal solidarity in the Arab

Jahiliyyah tradition. Thus, the use of kinship vocabulary plays a crucial role in

constructing cultural messages and emotive nuances that color the overall structure of

the poem.
